I am very pleased to dedicate my 50th post to the amazingly talented and inspirational designer Deola Sagoe.
Deola, along with having a beautiful name; has become a global fashion icon. She is of Nigerian ethnicity, being from the Ondo state; and she has created a great name for herself designing haute couture fashion.
This inspirational woman is one of the only West African designers who have made such an incredible stamp on the fashion world; and her work is stunning. Deola’s designs are so colourful and lively and her Kamole collection is so elegant and feminine.
I love the cultural influences on her designs and the model in these pictures looks remarkable in the garments; the colours look great against her dark skin.
It is so refreshing to watch creatives such as Deola, who provide such innovative and artistic fashion and have accomplished great achievements, purely through their huge talent and determination.
I enjoy ethnic influences on style, it is one of the great ways we can express ethnic traditions and celebrate the multi-cultural world we live in. She definately puts Nigeria on the fashion map and has a collection that I would love to wear!
